چکیده

A method is presented for determining innerand outer-electron radial density functions for two-electron systems by partitioning the fully correlated, two-electron, radial density function. This is applied to the helium isoelectronic series (Z = 1 to 10 and 100) and the critical nuclear charge system, which has the minimum charge for which the atomic system has at least one bound state, to separate out the motions of the two electrons in both weakly and strongly bound systems. It is found that the inner electron experiences a negative screening effect due to the perturbation by the other electron. This is quantified and shown to increase with increasing Z. For the weakly bound systems the inner radial density distribution closely resembles that of a hydrogenic atom with the outer radial density distribution becoming very diffuse.

Transient Two-Dimensional (r-z) Cyclic Charging/Discharging Analysis of Space Thermal Energy Storage Systems (RESEARCH NOTE)

A two-dimensional transient axi-symmetric model was developed to study the effects of various thermal and geometric parameters on cyclic heating and cooling modes of a phase-change thermal energy storage system. The high-temperature thermal energy storage device utilizes LiH for heat sink applications to store the waste heat generated during power-burst periods. The stored heat is then discharg...

Exact Elasticity Solutions for Thick-Walled FG Spherical Pressure Vessels with Linearly and Exponentially Varying Properties

In this paper, exact closed-form solutions for displacement and stress components of thick-walled functionally graded (FG) spherical pressure vessels are presented. To this aim, linear variation of properties, as an important case of the known power-law function model is used to describe the FG material distribution in thickness direction. Unlike the pervious studies, the vessels can have arbit...

Radial and angular correlations and the classification of intershell 2l2l83l9 triply excited states of atoms

We analyzed radial and angular correlations of 50 2l2l83l9 triply excited states of atoms. Using hyperspherical coordinates, we examined channel wave functions in the body-fixed frame to identify elementary normal modes of the correlated motion of the three electrons. For these states, we showed that the bending vibrational modes characterizing the angular correlations are the same as those in ...

تحول دینامیکی قرص‌های برافزایشی خودگرانشی پلی تروپ با وشکسانی بتا در حضور میدان مغناطیسی چنبره‌ای

In this paper, the effect of troidal magnetic field is studied in standard self-gravitating thin disks with β priscription. By applying the magnetic field, we expect to see different behaviors compared to a non-magnetic field case. The study reveals self-similar solutions for radial infall velocity, rotation velocity, surface density and mass accretion rate. Our results also show that by increasi...

Arrangement of inner dynein arms in wild-type and mutant flagella of Chlamydomonas

We have used computer averaging of electron micrographs from longitudinal and cross-sections of wild-type and mutant axonemes to determine the arrangement of the inner dynein arms in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. Based on biochemical and morphological data, the inner arms have previously been described as consisting of three distinct subspecies, I1, I2, and I3. Our longitudinal averages revealed 1...
